Orange Fitness Club
It’s Sunday afternoon and I am in the office catching-up on some work after being in southern France most of this past week looking at golf courses and interviewing a golf course architect. Here’s a photo of one of our favorite courses in southern France. It’s called Gassin Golf & Country Club.
In a few minutes, I will grab my gym bag and head downstairs to Orange Fitness, which is a full-service fitness club and spa owned by my business partners. The fitness club is located in the same building as my office and so it couldn’t be more convenient.
Quick plug for the club.
It is perhaps Krasnodar’s nicest full-service fitness club today. The club is located in a free standing newly constructed building at 185 Levenevskogo Street just off of Severnaya Street, one of Krasnodar main thoroughfares. Orange fitness has four floors of fitness activities. The first floor (see below) has a full aerobic studio with treadmills, stair masters, elliptical trainers, and stationary bikes. There is also a full Nautilus-style circuit and plenty of free weights. Personal trainers are numerous and are quite reasonably priced at around $10 per 30 minute session.
Additionally, on the first floor is a small cafe which has some great fruit smoothies. Also, there is a full-service beauty salon (currently under renovation) where I get my hair cut. Lastly, the first floor sports a large swimming pool and lounge deck. The shouts and laughter of the children from the swimming pool is constant. They are having a blast.
Orange Fitness has lockers available for free to store your belongings and shower and sauna facilities. The second floor has the Women’s locker room and a spa & wellness center. The spa has massage, body wraps, facials, manicures, pedicures, etc. The spa may possibly see a very large expansion in 2008. Plans are still being discussed.
The third floor is where the tennis and basketball court is located in addition to a huge group aerobic room and smaller boxing, martial arts studio.
Here’s a photo of the basketball and tennis court. I play doubles tennis here a couple times per week and occasionally join in the Mon-Wed-Fri after work basketball league.
And then finally, on the fourth floor are a couple dance and yoga studios. Yoga is becoming very popular here just as in the States. Almost every weekday morning when I arrive to my office I see groups of people waiting to start their yoga classes.
Anyhow, if you are planning on staying in Krasnodar for any period of time, I recommend signing-up for a membership to Orange Fitness (Annual Cost is approximately $1,500 USD or $125 per month). And now I am off for a 5 kilometer run on the treadmill while I listen to my Pimsleur Russian language learning tapes.
If you have any questions about Orange Fitness or would like to learn more about memberships, you may contact the Director of Orange Fitness Sergei Baranov directly. Sergei’s email is baranov@fitness-orange.ru and his cell phone is +7-918-317-0316. Here’s a photo of Sergei playing golf this past March in Las Vegas. His first time ever playing and he made a couple bogeys. Great athlete!
