Bob Woodruff is a Hero

I am awed and outraged. I am awed by Bob Woodruff. I am outraged at our politicians.

I am half way through watching Bob Woodruff’s report To Iraq and Back on my TiVo. You want to see something that will make you cry (sorrow but also joy). Watch this program (ABC has the full program on their website. Click link above). Bob Woodruff, his wife, his family, the military medical personal, the soldiers in Iraq with whom he was on duty, the folks at ABC are all heros. They are bringing to our attention the absolute inexcusable devastation this senseless war in Iraq is causing to our fellow citizens.

I don’t care whether you consider yourself a member of the Democratic, Republic, Green, Independent, or Vegetarian party, watch Bob Woodruff’s report and you, too, will be outraged. Shame on ALL our politicians in Washington. Both parties on the Hill are to blame. You disagree? Tell it to the wounded veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Go watch the video yourself. It is simply outrageous that these fine people who earn their livings as members of our military are being literally shredded. We all focus on the death toll. While that in itself is a crying shame the number of wounded is staggering. Staggering. And the injuries and personal struggles our military folks face once they return to their “normal” lives is heartbreaking.

Enough from me. Go watch Bob Woodruff’s amazing report. The program To Iraq and Back should win an Emmy. Normally, I would never write about such a serious, inflammatory, and depressing topic on this blog. However, Bob’s video is THAT powerful. Video is really the “king” of all the mediums.
