Wow! I am seriously impressed with Google these days. Just last week I took my opml file and loaded it into Google Reader. I haven’t missed my beloved NetNewsWire once. The “river of news” format of “All Items” is super smooth and allows me to graze through 100+ feeds in a couple minutes. I love being able to share what I’m reading through the “Share This” widget which I’ve loaded on my blog’s sidebar (look right). Additionally, the integration of Google Reader and Gmail is fantastic. I have emailed at least a couple dozen articles to friends, fellow bloggers, and colleagues in the past week.

Now Google is introducing Docs & Spreadsheets. I played around with the spreadsheet program and again I am impressed. I think we are witnessing something special. The promise of the virtual desktop is beginning to be realized.

I had doubted Google as much as the next guy. Hell, I thought the stock price was out of wack when it was in the high 300’s. It still might be out of wack. However, I can tell you one thing- I am using Google a lot these days. Can they monetize me? Don’t know. But I would say that if anybody can Google is the best bet.
